The Anti-Sanctuary bill SB168 was heard by the Florida Senate Judiciary Committee on February 11, 2019. Rather than a sober intelligent discussion of the issue, the hearing was dominated by opponents, many who were underage and non-US citizens espousing largely emotional untruths. Due to the large number speakers, testimony time was limited to one minute. Much time was spent too on Senator Gruter’s absence and 23 amendments, 19/23 filed by Democratic Vice-chair Rodriquez.
